Cast & Cruise Sundowner

Fishing, Seafood, Sunset, Drinks

As the sun slowly sets, soak up the magic of Rottnest Island’s golden glow on board our relaxed 2-hour Cast & Cruise Sundowner.

Departing from Thomson Bay, then dropping anchor in a tranquil bay, this is a classic West Australian boating experience on our premium 69-ft boat, The Crusader III.

Sip, socialise and take in breathtaking views of the Island’s coastline while you relax. You’ll be served seafood canapes along the way and can even throw in a line to fish!

This sundowner is the perfect way to end your day at Rottnest.

See in the night

Enjoy complimentary beverages, including still and sparkling premium wines from Howard Park, quality bottled beers and soft drinks. Dine on ocean-inspired canapes created by a private chef, featuring a fusion of local ingredients with fresh West Australian seafoods.

From this prime vantage point, relax to admire the Island’s stunning scenery, such as Bathhurst Lighthouse and Pinky’s Beach.

While at anchor in one of the Island’s calm bays, you may like to cast a line to try your hand at catching some of WA’s best-known nearshore fish, such as Herring and Whiting. Equipment, bait and expert guidance is provided. Our chef will happily cook your catch to enjoy on board, or you can take it away with you.

Finish with a picture-perfect view of sunset skies over Rottnest’s sparkling ocean. Pure magic!

Please contact us to discuss. We can cater for non-seafood eaters, vegans and gluten intolerances, with advance notice. You are also welcome to bring your own food items on board.

Our boat has very limited storage space, so notification of food intolerances on the day is unlikely to be able to be accommodated, as logistics are planned in advance.

Rottnest’s waters are very healthy and productive for fishing, but there is no guarantee you will catch fish. We will, of course, help you as much as possible. During the West Coast demersal finfish closed season (15 October to 15 December 2019), under rules of the Department of Fisheries, our fishing tours will be restricted to allowable catch species only, with no demersal finfish to be caught and retained. We also offer deep-sea fishing trips for demersal fish (such as Dhufish) within season, however this requires a tailored itinerary. Please contact us to enquire.

  • 5 star ratingAmazing Cruise - The best ever This Wild Seafood Experience Cruise was absolutely magnificent. All the crew (and there were 5 of then for only 15 passengers!) were fantastic, especially Ed. So much delicious food and superb wine. Brilliant hospitality that made you feel very welcome as soon as you boarded. Everything was so well done. Would very highly recommend this cruise. We will be going again

  • 5 star ratingHighlight of our Perth visit We had a fabulous time with the Rottnest Cruise crew. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the excitement of our mini version of “Deadliest Catch”. It was a highlight of our entire three weeks in Australia and certainly the day to Rottnest Island. Worth the money and time.

  • 5 star ratingWonderful tour Just a great day out, on the day of the channel swim. Cold beer on arrival, and canapes. Crew couldn't have been more helpful. Caught a heap of lobsters (crays) and had to throw some back. Great food. Met some great people too.

  • 5 star ratingFantastic from start to finish! Loved our 3 hour cruise with the crew, we met up with friends we had not seen in 10 years and two other couples on board. It was a beautiful boat, plenty of room and comfortable seating. Food was amazing and the drinks kept flowing! Lovely range of wines to choose from too. We caught a heaps of lobsters (crays) which was great fun to participate in - although most had to go back into the ocean as female we caught plenty for our lunch. We were lucky also to see some humpback whales - the first time for me so fantastic! Anchored in Parakeet Bay for our lunch, such a beautiful day, great company, delcious food and wonderful crew. Thank you so much for everything!

  • 5 star ratingFantastic experience The Rottnest cruise was a brilliant day out and one of the highlights of my time in Western Australia. The staff on board were all incredibly accommodating from the moment we stepped on board and we we were treated to free flowing drinks and a wonderful seafood feast which was freshly caught in front of us, and by us! It was a really unique experience to pull the crays in ourselves and everyone on the trip got involved. I was made to feel very welcome despite being a solo traveller.

The boat was impeccably clean and it was just the perfect way to see some of the more remote beauty of Rottnest.

Thank you again. I hope to return one day.
